As you guessed I just signed on. Didn't know where to post so I'll do it here.
I have a female 3 YO Catahoula and her training is minimal at best.
I live in Lee County Florida and need someone to assist me in training her.
I was hoping someone might know someone in these parts.
She is very agressive twoards strangers and with her hunting/Hearding heritage it shows. And with that we have no way of keeping her under control at times.
At her last vet visit she was so stressed she messed everywhere in that little room.
As well no one can walk her accept me and I am afraid she may kill someone or someones dog. So if she gets out were very concerned .
I have tried basic training like "off" "down" but I am not a professional trainer.
I have called a couple local trainers and all 5 have said they are not capable.
I know she is trainable because she is very smart. If you saw the way she comprehends every situation it shows.
Thanks for hearing my rant for help.

Now is the catahoula dog were breed for hunting boars? Is that correct? If so they also are known to climb trees? Is there maybe a cathoula dog group in the US who might be able to help you?

I thought used Rotties, Pits and coon dogs to run boar. I didn't know they had a breed just for it.

There was a guy in our SAR group who had a catahoula dog, and that dog had SOOOOoooo... much energy. He could do laps around our shepherds, labs and bloodhounds in our group.
