Hi,

I'm Gary. I'm a police officer in England, UK. I've been a cop for nearly 11 years, previously I was a soldier for 6 years.

My dog/k9 interests are out of work, it's my hobby. I'm into personal protection training and working dog trials. I administer a forum in Europe called: www.protectionk9uk.com

My dog is a working bloodline German Shepherd bitch called Xena. As I write this, she is just over 10 months old. She's doing great. Better that I could have hoped for;

Below are a couple of links to her training video clips..

Glad to see you joined over here. Your dog looks good. Your movie links aren't working though. Are you a K9 police?

Thanks

thank you...

I wont be going...I'm due to be working over the days he is here... in addition to the fact that the cost would clear the national debt for several small countries...:eek:

Nice vids Gary. What's your control around the decoy handling following the chase like. Xena looks very high drive. Do you use any particular methods to keep her focused on you and not piling back in. Just interested, having a high drive dog myself. It's a pity you're not going to the Ivan Balabanov seminar though. Having seen his training I believe it could help your control etc..... and considering his experience I think the cost is quite reasonable. Afterall, you could spend that much watching The Spice Girls in concert.

Are you a member of a club in your area. If so where are your training facilities and the clubs name? I'd be interested in attending a meeting one day and watching what they do.

I'm lucky in that I have a naturally high drive dog, but one that also has lots of self control. She's very civil, yet honest, a dream to own/train.

I'd rather watch a SchH round than watch the Spice Girls... :rolleyes: and that's saying something...

I'm sure you would...... It's a bit of a bloke's bloke sort of place... There's no guarantee you'd get out unharmed. ;)
