But I did get to go to the vet.... My pup ripped his ear. Not sure how he did it but it is a clean cut. 250 bucks later he should be as good as new in a couple weeks.

It looks too clean to be nother dog. Fence maybe? Damn shame though.

$250 seems a bit much for what should have been a few stitches. Looks like a clean job though.

I'm a little old school when it comes to that. Although I believe a vet should be well paid for their work I also believe in common sense. Reminds me of a situation years ago where a bitch I owned at the time ripped up my friend's dog's ear in a similar way. He took it to a 24hr vet clinic as it was night time. I accompanied him and saw the vet add up all the associated costs. They included general anesthetic which IMO is as risky to the dog as anything else and added up to $900. When I asked the vet why he cant do it with local anesthetic he said, and I remember those stupid words like it was yesterday "Your dog wouldn't thank you for it.". I convinced my friend to let another vet friend I had do the work. He did a beautiful clean job on the kitchen floor with no anesthetic with just me keeping the dog in a down position. It was a dobe rott cross and took it without much trouble. I hope this doesn't sound as outrageous as the original price tag.
That's a long cut on your beagle's ear but at least it wasn't jagged.
