A few of us have been meeting here and there working protection dogs and tightening up on OB. Anyone interested in doing so can contact me or Franman. This is not a club. Just a groub to work some dogs. No fees no chestbeating either. Come out an play nice. Good relaxed stuff.

That might be fun. I was looking at the website, and it appears Matt and I have simular backgrounds. You guys are only about 90 minutes from me. Id be interested in checking out and checking some of your APPDA. How does it differ from PSA?

You and your group need to come down in Feb. for the APPDA event. Then you can see where we are located.

We differ a great deal. Everything we do is based on the real world and how a dog is to be used. It conforms to laws and how and when a dog can be used. In the Police Service Dogs and Personel Protection dogs. We are going to be the best place to get PSD and PPD dogs certified. Real life work based on case law. We would love to have you and anyone else to come and see if APPDA is right for you. We do have a sister club in Spartanburg S.C. We can give you the contacts if you would like.

Who runs the club in Spartanburg? Is Eric the decoy?

No, Eric isn't a decoy with us anymore. Jim Beernik runs it and he also is a judge and a Board Member.

Might have to come out and see some of that. So is APPDA something that you guys at QK9C are promoting only out of your area? Any clubs further than spartenburg yet?

We have people from Hawaii to the UK wanting to jump on board. You can be one of the two clubs in the Carolinas if you would like.
APPDA is made up of the BOD memebrs that left ASR after the then current BOD would not mkae changes that needed to be made (very long story). So we (Keith and Mo earle, Matt Hammond, Jerry Lyda, Jay Lyda, Jim Beernick, and Rob Smith) formed APPDA. Rob has since stepped back to focus on his kennel but remains active.
I try to keep QK9C out of it as much as I can. I promote on my site and I am a Sponser but that is t. We are getting interest from all over the country and would like it to grow as much as we can. ASR was southern based and had no plans of growing out of the GA, FL area. We want this to be take off, and give folks a realer the approch to working there dogs. The APPDA BOD to great pains in making everything as real and legal as we could. Every piece of APPDA has happened to one of us or someone that we know. By taken real life events and putting a points system on it we have made a real program that can be obtained by anyone that trains a dog. It is not so hard that you can't do it, and it is not so easy that everyone can do it. We are right in the middle. Our OB is just stripped down everyday OB. No R/C helos, leave blowers long downs nothings. Just OB you might do while taking your dog for a walk.
Anyway we have had very good feed back from those that have seen it. And y'all being just down the road could really make a go at the club deal.
